The Enrollment Settings section is where you can set up settings for the enrollment process as well as general Plan Overlap Rules. This means how enrollment waiting period eligibility and contribution should be calculated if an employee falls under two different groups.
Enrollment Settings
On the first tab, Enrollment, you may choose the following indicators:
- Automatically unlock enrollment for new hires and rehires.
- Allow employees to self-report Qualifying Life Events (QLEs)
- Pend Employee Enrollments for Admin Approval
- Choose whether to capture the waive reason when employees waive dental coverage.
- Choose whether to capture the waive reason when employees waive vision coverage.
Overlap Rules
To set up general Overlap Rules, go to Enrollment → Enrollment Settings and select the Plan Overlap Rules tab.
If an employee meets the conditions for more than one contribution schedule: This dropdown allows you to set contribution rules for when an employee falls under two or more contribution groups. You can set a rule to allocate the highest or lowest contribution amount within those contribution groups where employee qualifies. If you do not want to apply this general rule, select Display Overlap Warning During Enrollment from the dropdown. This selection will lead the platform to display an error message to the employee during the enrollment process and ask the employee to contact the company HR admin. The purpose of this option is to make admin aware of a possible setup issue within the plan.
If an employee meets the conditions for more than one eligibility waiting period: if an employee is eligible for two separate waiting period group, select to allocate Shortest Waiting Period or Longest Waiting Period. To display an eligibility error during enrollment, select Display overlap warning during enrollment. This will prevent the employee from starting enrollment and a message will display to contact the company HR admin. The purpose of this option is to make admin aware of a possible setup issue within the plan.
If an employee meets the conditions for more than one Life/Disability benefit group, you can specify which amount they should receive. The system will allocate benefit coverage can be set as Highest Max Benefit Amount or Lowest Max Benefit Amount. To display a warning during enrollment, select the third option. The purpose of this option is to make the admin aware of a possible setup issue within the plan.
